Bornes to Fly: François Montuori on the podium with the UltraBip!

This year, the Bornes to Fly (200km across the Bornes, Aravis and Beaufortain mountains) offered generous conditions and an exceptional level of competition.

François Montuori put in a remarkable performance to take 2nd place.
From the very first turnpoints, François showed great mastery:

«The start of the race confirmed the work I've done: superb sensations and a lot of serenity under my wing.»

However, his race took an unexpected turn at 5pm when he was in the lead.
François immediately interrupted his flight to come to the aid of the injured Tanguy Renaud-Goud, staying by his side until help arrived. Repositioned by the race directors, he then embarked on a memorable final: an intense sprint in the valley alongside Tim Alongi and Lucas Bonin, followed by an early morning final glide with a glide ratio of over 15 to finish in the lead, just a few seconds behind Lucas Bonin.

🏆 For François, this progression (25th in 2022, 6th last year, and now 2nd) validates rigorous preparation and an uncompromising choice of equipment:

«As usual, I flew with theUltraBip. I really appreciate the accuracy and reliability of this instrument. Connected to my phone, its weight is negligible and it recharges itself in flight: it's the perfect vario-GPS for hike & fly.»

🚀 Next stop for François: the Red Bull X-Alps Challenger. The goal? Win a place on the podium to take part in the legendary Red Bull X-Alps, the toughest hike and fly race in the world!
